For business owners
Help your next customer find you.
Start with a free listing. After launch, claim your business in the app to manage photos, your description, hours, and contact information. Future sponsorship options will offer additional visibility as markets open.
A few things to know
Is BlackKarat free?
The app will be free to download. Discovering businesses and adding or claiming a listing does not require a sponsorship purchase.
Can I search somewhere other than my current location?
Yes. Search another city or explore the map. You can use BlackKarat without granting device-location permission.
What do the ownership labels mean?
Identified means research found a citable source identifying the business as Black-owned. Owner Confirmed means an ownership claim was approved. Verified by BlackKarat means our team attested to Black ownership. These describe the basis for the listing, not a guarantee of service quality or current business details.
How do I add or claim a business?
After launch, create a free account in the app to submit a business or claim an existing listing. Our team reviews submissions and ownership claims. Anyone can request a correction or removal through Business Listings on this website.
Can I sponsor my business?
Paid placement sales are currently closed. Future sponsorships will open market by market. Claiming a listing is free, and sponsorship never changes its ownership-verification status.
